Sylvester the donkey finds a red pebble. He likes to collect pebbles. It was raining and his said he wished it would stop raining. He realized over time it was magical. He ran into a lion and he was so afraid that he wished he could hide and it tuned him into a rock. He couldn't turn back because you have to touch the pebble. His parents were so worried about Sylvester because he was now missing. He was gone for many seasons. His parents picnic right on him! The dad found the pebble and put it on the rock/sylvester. His dad made a wish and poof, Sylvester came back to normal.

The Four Winds

I really enjoyed this book. I love reading historical fiction. The book follows the life of a family living in the1930’s in the Great Plains of America. They survive devastating drought, wind storms, and the Great Depression. Personal loss, battles against nature, prejudice, and financial ruin was the daily reality for these farmers. Strength, pride, and courage was what they also had. The American dream strong in the hearts of these American farmers. A must read!
